“Likely best during the winter time.”
The place met all our needs; the room was a good size and the staff were helpful. Clearly Bankso is a ski town and we were probably the only guests at the hotel, so the hotel and the town felt a bit deserted. The place has a very “ski town” vibe, with signs telling you not to bring your ski boots into the room, etc. Our room was on the top floor, had nice wood beams and was very large; they offered us an upgrade to a balcony room when we checked in but we declined, and in hindsight we should have accepted because while our room was good, we had no view and I’m sure the balcony room would have. We ate at the restaurant one evening and it was good, and the staff were kind.
I love this room. I've been staying here for the third year now. The view of the mountains is fantastic. There are two balconies, one on the lower floor that’s sheltered from rain, and another on the upper floor with a beautiful mountain view. The room is cozy and spacious. It includes a kitchenette with a fridge, kettle, and microwave – essential since we stay for two weeks. There are two toilets. Carpeting covers the 1st and 2nd floors. The downside is the smell of food from the restaurant when the windows are open on the 1st floor. The mattress is a bit worn in places, and I wake up with back pain in the morning.

I stayed in the upper room on floor 4, just a few steps above floor 3, and it was spacious and beautiful; the hotel is right next to the gondola and a short walk from the old city. Breakfast was good, private parking was included, and everything else was great, though the shower was a bit small.
I was impressed by the hotel and its staff – definitely coming back for another stay!
