After a booking mishap, the new owner Luke sorted everything out and was incredibly accommodating. The meal was great and the staff were friendly. Wishing the new team all the best.

It’s a very cozy and comfortable place to stay. The staff were extremely friendly and helped with anything you needed. My favourite part was the owner’s cute dog Bubba (I hope that’s how it’s spelled). We’ll definitely be back. A great place if you’re visiting for Highclere Castle. Nothing! You can’t really get Ubers in the area (or only if you’re lucky) so we asked for advice and got referred to Cabco Newbury taxi service which was great.

The Carpenters Arms is closed. I have to reschedule, and I’m still receiving a review email. That’s not only odd, it’s bad.

The room in the annex was cozily furnished, the staff were friendly, the food was tasty, and the breakfast was good. Perfect for a visit to Highclere Castle.

We were looking for somewhere to stay around Newbury and found The Carpenters Arms purely by accident. What a find. The pub itself is quite small and dated, but that’s all part of the charm. The locals were friendly and welcoming. The restaurant and dining area were modern and spacious, and the food and service were excellent. The accommodation is separate from the pub in old refurbished buildings and was lovely and comfortable. The owners and all the staff were really friendly and helpful. All in all, a thoroughly good night was had, and we will definitely be back again. We have already recommended The Carpenters Arms to our friends. As an aside, if you are looking for dog‑friendly accommodation, look no further. Nothing to say here.
