A small hotel just a few minutes' walk from the beach, with cafés, restaurants across the street, and a bus stop in front for island travel, makes a nice chill base if you don’t have a car; the hotel itself is very clean, a good size, and I felt very safe as a solo female traveller, and the ladies who run the place are super friendly and lovely, so I’d stay there again if I returned to Elba.
