The host, Fábio, was perfect—helpful from start to finish and beyond. The space felt like a cozy retreat in STL, but you’ll need a car for everything; our car broke down and we had to rely on an expensive local Uber to get to and from downtown. I also missed a full‑length mirror in the room; the only mirror in the house is in the bathroom sink.

The place was clean and tidy, but there were some issues - water was leaking on the kitchen floor, probably from a leaky faucet, and the churrasqueira area could use more lighting. The Wi-Fi was spotty, and the fridge took ages to chill drinks, although it worked well once it got going. And it was a long way from the center of São Tomé.
