Dinner was fantastic. However, this is a very tired and dilapidated hotel. Bizarrely, the windows to the rooms on the top floor let 10–20 insects in every hour, and they gave us a vacuum cleaner to suck them up with. It was disgusting and would have failed a health and safety check from the appropriate agency. This infestation left a putrid smell in the rooms we were in. Overnight the bugs crept into my shoes and into the shower. It was the worst hotel experience of my life.

“Overal beestjes ook op de kamer!”

Matheo was very friendly and prepared some bread, cheese, and meat because the restaurant was closed. The suite was dirty everywhere with crawling insects. Breakfast was the worst in a long time: rotten fruit, boiled eggs that were a watery substance, very limited coffee that wasn’t hot. The place needs a makeover; the rooms are a disaster with many bugs. See the photos.

“Perfection!”

We felt like family guests! We enjoyed a fabulous meal at the Chateau, with wonderful food, delicious wine, and excellent service. The Chateau’s location is great for visits. We just wish we had more time.

The property had a wonderful character, the staff were great, and breakfast was excellent. The grounds were beautiful and the staff recommended a fantastic nearby restaurant.
