“Simple but adequate food and accommodation”

We stopped at the hotel to break a journey from Inverness to Plymouth. It was quite close to the motorway, and the website and Google ratings were all enticing. We arrived on a Monday, when food is not usually available to non‑residents, although there is food and a friendly bar for residents. We both enjoyed the meal we chose from the menu. Our room was cold on arrival and took ages to warm up. Our hosts were friendly and cheerful, but seemed very busy with other things. The decor, paintwork and facilities were all OK, but needed attention.

“Wonderful”

Our hosts were very welcoming and made us feel relaxed, and the service we received was excellent and friendly. The food was very good and, although the room was slightly on the small side, it was comfortable. I would have liked to stay longer because we felt so well looked after. It was lovely. Nothing.

“A pleasure staying in beautiful countryside, in a comfortable room, friendly people and good food”

Love the scenery and the little village. The bedroom was small but perfectly adequate, homely rather than smart which is fine by us as the bed was comfy and the en suite spotless. The evening meal we enjoyed and the breakfast was excellent. The staff were polite and friendly. We enjoyed a short saunter up the road in the morning to the church which is worth a visit if you are interested. Another second and pleasurable visit. Thank you. Liked it all

“Poor value for money.”

The food Bar area when open. Bar not open till 5. Owners dogs not under control on arrival. Bedroom needs upgrading
