The kaiseki meal felt like a Japanese set menu, served dish by dish with Hida beef, pickles, and more, offering a wide variety of dishes. There were a few too many pickles.

I experienced a truly Japanese vibe here; the room was spacious and cozy, offering a fantastic view and excellent food, and the staff were welcoming and friendly.

“Superb place to stay”

Everything was great, especially the welcoming staff and the outdoor onsen; however, the Kaiseki dinner and breakfast felt quite pricey and didn’t really impress us, probably not our taste.

“It’s a nice hotel and I wish we could have stayed longer. We had to rush off as we had a long traveling day.”

We booked two rooms for one night and they were right next to each other so that was super considerate. The rooms were spacious enough and the staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way to help out. The Onsen is beautiful with several pools. Great facilities. The breakfast was amazing (Japanese style) and the views were breathtaking out of the windows. The onset is a real thermal spring and has a bit of a smell that my son didn’t enjoy much. But it was part of the experience. (The grown ups didn’t mind)

The hotel is nicely located next to the ropeway and a river, making it a good place to stay, though it appears they will be undergoing renewal works and will be closed from May 2026 onwards; the hotel is large, the onsen is nice, and the staff—international and English‑speaking—are friendly.
