“Decent budget option short walk from slopes.”
The slopes were only about 500 m up a gentle rise, the room was comfy with tatami and futon, and the onsen was simple but effective. Breakfast was reasonable, the drying room worked well (though a bit rough), and there were vending machines for beer, drinks, and snacks. The laundromat was good and the valley view was pretty. When it got windy, a strong kerosene smell hit the room. The staff explained that wind can blow back through the flues. I turned off the oil heater and asked for an electric plug, but the odor was still bad and one friend got a headache.
