The room was in a great spot, the bedding was nice, and breakfast was good; nothing was wrong at all.

The room was comfortable, but the cleaning staff took a while to finish the tidying.

Not much to praise except a friendly receptionist at the front desk during our five‑day stay; breakfast was decent. I paid for a king‑size double room but the first night we were put into a tiny three‑bedroom space, the fridge wasn’t cleaned, the air‑conditioning blew out ice chunks, and the key cards never worked. Fortunately a kind and understanding receptionist moved us to another room after I filed a complaint.

The staff didn’t come across as very welcoming, and communicating was hard when you don’t speak Portuguese – some people talked fast and didn’t bother with Google Translate even though I had it ready. They also avoided eye contact, staring at their computer screens during our exchanges. The room was sparsely furnished, windowless and rather dark, and the price felt steep for what was offered. A more attentive welcome and better amenities would have made the stay much nicer.

I liked the location and the staff’s friendliness, and breakfast was perfect; the venue’s position was fine relative to the city centre. The reception lacked anyone who spoke French or English, which is a pity given the growing number of tourists from French Guiana. Rolando iluvu.
