“Perfect for few nights in the rain forest”

I stayed in a cabin deep inside the rainforest and spotted plenty of animals—sloths, frogs, monkeys, butterflies, even more monkeys! Even on rainy days the cabin felt cozy, though the howler monkeys would rouse you from sleep. The road to get there was bumpy, but that added to the adventure.

I was surrounded by nature, close to the beach, and the kitchen was well equipped. The only downside was how hot it got in the little house.

“Experiencia nada buena”

The garden and house looked pretty at first glance, but the kitchen taps didn’t work, the toilet wouldn’t flush, the coffee machine lacked a filter, and a swarm of ants bit me as soon as I arrived. The staff member who handled complaints gave some unsatisfactory answers, and the owner didn’t resolve the issues. The access road was terrible even for a 4×4. I waited until the end of my trip to compare it with other, more modest accommodations where the service was much better.

“Nice lodge in beautiful surroundings, but located a little too far from town.”

The lodge sits amid lush, green scenery and offers plenty of wildlife spotting. We would have liked a common area for guests to relax, and the lodge is far from the small town; the final stretch of road is in such bad shape that a drive that should be under 10 minutes took about 30 minutes.

“Zenitude, parfait”

The place is quiet, beautifully located, and the exterior kitchen is lovely. Antonio’s hospitality and various attentions were a highlight. The only issue was a leak in the roof—heavier rain caused it.
