The Saffron Garden Malindi in Malindi offers family rooms with air-conditioning, private bathrooms, and pool views. Each room features a work desk, soundproofing, and complimentary toiletries. The hotel boasts a sun terrace, garden, bar, and year-round outdoor pool, along with free WiFi, a tour desk, and on-site parking. A diverse breakfast menu includes continental, American, buffet, and Italian options, served in a beautiful garden setting.

The room and bathroom were spacious and everything was very clean. The facilities are modern yet keep the charm of traditional buildings. The staff are very friendly. The only drawback was the absence of a hair dryer.

Our stay at Saffron surpassed every expectation. The property is an oasis surrounded by greenery. A highly appreciated extra service is the local transport option—tuk‑tuk and boda‑boda rides at very reasonable rates. The rooms are large, spotless, and fully equipped; only a few rooms exist, leaving plenty of green space between them. The staff were always attentive and warm, and the food was excellent from breakfast to dinner, including great cocktails. The property is mindful of waste and offers plated breakfast instead of a buffet, which can feel excessive and disrespectful. Nearby, I recommend Falconry Of Kenya Ltd. The local guide, Roy Watamu Kenya (+254111929003), made our stay unforgettable. He is a local who speaks Italian and English fluently, professional, empathetic, and passionate. Roy organizes guided walks along the coast and amazing safaris inland, showing travelers the true Kenyan spirit. A special shout‑out goes to his colleague, David. I highly recommend this resort and the guided experience with Roy for a complete and perfect trip. The only downside concerns the bathroom: despite its elegance and cleanliness, the shower head and sink tap water flow were annoying, a technical issue that should be addressed. Although Malindi is a city worth visiting, I suggest staying in Watamu, a small town that offers more, especially if you want to spend days on the beach or visit nearby attractions.

The rooms, pool, and garden were just perfect. The hotel is well maintained and very beautiful, truly a slice of heaven with a very relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast was good. The fault isn’t the hotel’s, but Malindi isn’t the best town in Kenya. We walked along the beach and found a couple of good restaurants nearby.

We were very happy! The hotel was meticulously cared for in every detail, spotless. All the staff were very kind and helped us explore Malindi and the surroundings without any problems. The only issue was the lack of beach access.
