Located in the Tuscan Hills just outside Pelago, The Florence Hills Resort & Wellness offers a free outdoor pool, free Wi-Fi, a wellness corner, and the Tuscania restaurant. Air-conditioned rooms feature flat-screen TVs and private bathrooms with hairdryers and toiletries. A daily breakfast buffet includes fresh fruit, pastries, and hot dishes. Parking is available, and a bus stop 500 meters away connects to Florence, 22 km away.

Even though the accommodation was a bit over 20 km from Florence, which was our destination, we were very satisfied with the value for money. The staff were very friendly, but there were signs of wear in our apartment. The breakfast was plentiful, yet some dishes disappeared quickly and we didn't notice them being replenished during our meal. Parking is extra, but you can find free street parking nearby. The shower door didn't close properly, a few lights didn't work, and the lock on the entrance door couldn't be secured from the inside.

The place looks modern and has a lot of potential. I liked the fairly generous breakfast and the option to choose between coffee or cappuccino. Receptionist Fida was extremely kind and welcoming, and the cleaning ladies were also very friendly and courteous. On the downside, I chose this hotel thinking it was a 4‑star property, but in my view it didn’t fully match that rating. First, the pool I wanted to use was dirty, unmaintained and unusable, which was a big let‑down considering the room price. Second, the baseboards were filthy and there were cobwebs in the corners of the room. The bathrooms were clean and well‑maintained, but the lack of a small shelf in the bathroom to hold beauty products was a major flaw. The sheets were never changed during our week‑long stay, and the towels were inconsistent. I also noticed that the teaspoons at breakfast were often dirty. The thing I liked the least was the owner’s unfriendly tone when I asked if breakfast was included on the checkout day – I expected more politeness and less bluntness. I’m sorry, but it didn’t fully meet my expectations.

The property is pretty nice and welcoming; the room was large and clean. The breakfast was far from perfect, with plenty of sweet options to choose from.

The staff were a bit rude. The check‑in times listed online were wrong, and the staff blamed us and wouldn’t adjust the times shown online for future guests.
