Arriving late at night, we stepped into the cozy, welcoming cottage of The Karoo Kaven and enjoyed delicious coffee while firing up a quick braai; the hot shower and very comfortable bed felt heavenly, and the rest of the weekend was spent exploring Barrydale and relaxing in the quiet garden, experiencing the Karoo at its best—Karoo Kaven is a gem, and the owners had clearly prepared for every need, leaving us feeling blessed; the only downside was having to head home.
