It was hard to find any positives! I was very disappointed with this old, tacky hotel. No one spoke English, the reservation was wrong, and luckily I had Chinese friends or it would have been a nightmare. The free parking is behind the hotel in a dark corner where you have to pass through the delivery area to reach the main hall. The rooms are old, the bathtub is only 30 cm high, the shower head is fixed, the woodwork is bare and faded, the beds are hard Chinese straw mattresses, and the fridge is empty. For a hotel with a good reputation, I was very surprised. I had offered the night to my friends and was disappointed, because elsewhere I always felt hotels go out of their way to please foreigners, and this was the first time I was let down. My Chinese friends explained that the hotel apparently didn't like foreigners, as all the other Chinese stayed on upper floors while we were on lower floors! So if they had booked, we would have gotten better rooms. The breakfast buffet was very disappointing, empty, with only English toast and no bread.
