Arriving at Ruma, I was upgraded to a better room and ended up staying nearly three weeks instead of the planned one. The staff were extremely friendly, making me feel at home every day, and they even sent me special fruits from their garden. They were always accommodating, which made my time there wonderful. I rented a scooter from them, did laundry, and even used their fridge because my room had none. Watching the surf from the rooftop breakfast area was incredible, and the location is close to Ahangama’s main strip—walking is possible but a scooter is better. The Wi‑Fi is decent but not outstanding, which is typical for Sri Lanka. Nothing else to complain about.

Everything was perfect.

The room had a sea view, but it wasn’t sound‑proof, ants were present, the balcony wasn’t well maintained, and getting to the rooms required climbing two flights of stairs. I had to go up two levels, and the only time I checked out was at 10:00 am, which was just inconvenient.
