Only the location, almost in the centre of Merano, was good. The house was in bad shape: the electricity failed at check‑in, we had to share a bathroom with the neighbouring room, and the whole building smelled old and musty. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend the property; we cancelled on the spot and found another place ourselves. The owner was initially uncomfortable and wanted to help, but it didn’t work out as he had described. Bottom line: mediators should inspect the houses more closely beforehand.

“Das Hotel verweigert Check-In trotz pünktlicher Anreise!”

I couldn’t even check in because nobody was available for two hours after the agreed arrival time, neither in person nor by phone, despite receiving a booking confirmation. The Holidu hotline tried to help but only attempted the same contact method with the hotel, so it was useless. A neighbor told me this issue had happened more often in recent months—or even years—and I don’t understand why this hotel is still listed.

The location, room size and welcome were good, but there was no hot shower and nobody answered my emails. After eight days I still haven’t received the invoice.

The place is very central in a lovely town, especially around Christmas. The room had no heating on arrival, so we left. At the end of the day we found a small heater that didn’t provide enough warmth or comfort (mid‑December!). The staff showed little empathy about the problem and offered no apologies. I emailed the host for explanations but never got a reply. Too bad.
