Located opposite the lively Gozsdu Udvar, Wombat’s City Hostel Budapest offers air‑conditioned en‑suite rooms and mixed dorms with lockers, free Wi‑Fi, a 24‑hour bar, café, kitchen, laundry and billiard table. Within 300 m lie Deák Ferenc Tér (three metro lines), St. Stephen’s Basilica, and the Kazinczy Utcá ruin pubs; the Chain Bridge is 800 m away. Airport shuttle connects directly to Liszt Ferenc Airport.

The location was good and the housemates were pleasant. Everything was charged extra (towels, luggage storage) and the paid breakfast didn’t feel worth its price. On the lower floor a band played until 01.00, and the noise seeped into the room, making it hard to sleep.

The location was fine, but the hostel felt like a maze; after a few days you couldn’t find your way north, indicating a serious fire‑exit hazard. Previous reviews also mentioned this issue.
