“Deception”

The setting is exceptional and the staff are very friendly, offering dinner and breakfast for a fee, and the dining room is pleasant. After two days of trekking I just wanted a hot shower, but when I arrived at 19:00 the water heater was unplugged, so I took a cold shower. The power went out during the night, leaving me without light (I returned later) and I couldn’t charge my devices. There was only a single roll of toilet paper left, though I had tissues. A light fixture outside, directly above my window, stayed on all night, making it hard to sleep, so I had to use my headlamp to get to the dark bathroom. I told the staff when I woke up, but nothing was done. Luckily I stayed only one night.

Great choice for a large group of friends. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the balcony offers a stunning view of the surrounding mountains and traditional Svanecké towers. In the restaurant you can enjoy absolutely excellent homemade Georgian dishes, a generous breakfast, and dinner. If you’re hungry or thirsty, you’ll never leave hungry because the supply of homemade drinks never ends! The biggest gem, however, is the owners themselves. They are incredibly kind, hospitable, and helpful, making you feel at home from the moment you arrive.

“Terrible”

I was more taken by the village than the hotel. At first, the staff tried to push me into a lower‑quality room, claiming the one I’d paid for lacked heating, even though the listing says it does. When I protested, they finally gave me the room I’d requested, but it came with a bar‑style stove from the 1990s that barely worked and kept me freezing. The weather was brutal, so we stayed the first night because there weren’t many options in the town in October, but we left the next day after another cold evening at a different restaurant. I felt poorly attended, and when I asked the manager about a tour, his reply was short, negative, and devoid of empathy. From then on, I only asked the locals for help. I won’t be back.
