“Beautifully restored architectural gem”
Champagne on arrival, historic architecture, and friendly staff were highlights, but there was no spot to sit down for breakfast.

The property felt like home from childhood, and the basement bar offered excellent food at a great price, yet the walls were pretty thin; I stayed in an adjoining room and the couple next door seemed to be on their honeymoon :-0.

The location was perfect, and I enjoyed a delicious dinner in the bar; at check‑in I learned about a special movie/wine‑tasting event that evening, so I bought a ticket and found it delightful. One owner introduced himself at the event and talked about renovation plans that sounded great, so I’ll return. The room was nice but a bit tight—acceptable for an old, historic hotel and a solo traveler like me. I like to listen to TV chatter while getting ready, but the channel selection was very limited and the picture quality was pretty grainy.

The staff were historic and helpful, but after making a reservation they charged my credit card again on the day I checked out, and it was a pain getting the full amount back—never balanced the total between what I paid and what they charged again.
