“Caravan im Thornwick Bay Holiday Park”
The host was extremely friendly, replied quickly and even fulfilled a special request; the key handover via a lockbox was hassle‑free, the scenery was beautiful and, in the right season, you can watch puffins on the rocks; the park offered a small supermarket, restaurants, evening entertainment and a playground (we didn’t use the pool or Activity Barn, which I think require an extra Holidaypass, though we didn’t look into it). On the downside, the carpets and chairs were covered in dog hair, the kitchen cupboard held an egg cup with ketchup and dried fries and was sticky, the freezer wasn’t properly cleaned, there were stains on the sofa cushions, bedspreads and pillows, and no blanket in the duvet cover—we eventually found a blanket on the floor of the closet. The wardrobes were nearly unusable because they were packed with a vacuum cleaner, a high‑chair, etc.; the vacuum itself was weak, so we couldn’t really clean the rugs. The toothbrush cup was dirty, the silicone joints in the shower were mouldy, and black grime came out of the shower hose’s grooves onto our hands. The small bathroom window wouldn’t open and the lamp cover was missing. One day we experienced a power cut, after which the internet stayed spotty. A tradesperson arrived unannounced to fix the stove. The last two nights our neighbours were extremely noisy, singing and shouting, although the first week was quiet before the English holidays began.
