The vibe here is great; it’s a small hostel so it doesn’t feel like a party spot, and being in my 40s I never felt out of place. Mari, who runs the place while Laura is away, was very friendly, as was the cat! The price for a private room with a shared bathroom felt a bit high compared to other spots in Nicaragua, but it’s still a solid option for Gigante.

We had a wonderful stay with Laura in El Gigante. Her extraordinary willingness to help was highlighted—she was reachable at all times and supported us with every question and concern. The entire accommodation was very clean, especially the kitchen, which made cooking a real pleasure. The view is an absolute highlight; from the place you see both Playa Amarillo and El Gigante’s beach, a view we’ve never seen elsewhere, and the sunsets were dreamy. The location is perfect for exploring the area and visiting various spots in the region (provided you have a motorcycle or car). At the same time, the place has a very quiet and pleasant atmosphere. We would recommend it to anyone and would come back anytime :)

The dorm with 4 beds and a fan is great—location and view are a dream, the kitchen is well equipped, daily cleaning, free drinking water, a sweet cat, super friendly and helpful owners, and a weekly beach clean‑up event. No complaints.

The place is beautiful, very clean, and the view is amazing!!! Laura and Mari are super wonderful :) The pillows aren’t very comfortable, but the bed is fine and the room is very clean.
