“Very disappointing”
The air conditioning worked well and the beds were comfortable. Dinner was a self‑service BBQ that was very good, with plenty of food provided. I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt it necessary today. My wife and I stayed for one night and the experience was very disappointing overall. The place feels more like a hostel than a hotel. It claims there are shared bathrooms but also says each room has a bath and shower; that’s false. All toilets and showers are shared and were extremely busy all day and night. We struggled to find space in the sink area, and the showers had a sign that you flip to indicate they were in use, written in Japanese, which made it uneasy. There were many small children running around the shared shower areas, adding to the discomfort. On top of that, a man on his laptop was on a Skype call in the shared sink room, occupying one of the three sinks for the entire evening and night. The rooms were basic and the cleanliness was poor, with dust and dirt under the beds. The walls were paper‑thin, and until late at night we could clearly hear kids running up and down the hall and screaming. Most annoyingly, the lock on the door didn’t work, so a small child entered our bedroom in the morning while we were still in bed. Dinner and breakfast were included in our reservation. The breakfast was very poor, consisting of a packed sandwich in clingfilm and sachet instant coffee. Also, the outdoor areas by the lake shown in the ad are public, not private for guests. When we arrived at 1 pm, the area was packed and we had to go elsewhere for food and a drink. This isn’t made clear in the advertisement. The cost for our stay was 203 EUR, which represents very poor value for money compared to other accommodations we stayed in during our Japan trip.
