Hotel Altmünsterhof, located in Altmünster, sits 200 m from Traunsee lake and its promenade. Renovated in 2017, rooms feature balconies, some offering lake views, cable TV, bathrooms, and hairdryers. Complimentary Wi‑Fi, a library, a parlour with fireplace, and kids’ game rooms. Two minutes walk to water‑ski school and tennis courts; a free ski bus to Feuerkogel departs from the hotel.

The view from apartment 2 looked straight onto the lake, which was lovely. The main road outside had extreme traffic, ruining the peaceful vibe; the owner couldn’t fix that, which was a real disappointment. Otherwise the place was pretty nice.

The hotel was in a beautiful spot, with tasty, plentiful breakfasts and high cleanliness standards. My ground‑floor room was right next to the breakfast hall, so the noise from guests and kitchen prep woke me up early every morning.

The spot was right by the lake, perfect for strolling along the promenade. The hotel sits on the main street, which brings a lot of traffic noise.
