Located next to Vysehrad Castle's historic walls, the Union Hotel Prague offers a 5-minute walk to the Prague Congress Centre and central Prague. Built in Art Nouveau style in the early 1900s, the hotel features air-conditioned rooms and complimentary Wi-Fi. Guests can enjoy local beers at the bar and access the historical centre via trams 18 and 24 within 10 minutes.

The location was good for reaching the city center by tram or on foot, and the windows faced the inner block, giving a peaceful night. The mattresses were quite worn and should be replaced.

The staff were welcoming and the location was convenient for transport, but the rooms looked outdated and the renovation was only half‑finished, with a half‑painted wall still visible. Soundproofing was nonexistent, which is understandable for an old building. The room had a bedside socket for the coffee table, but the other one was missing, so we had to use the loose sockets inside the TV desk, which often failed to charge our devices overnight. The mattresses felt like floor‑level, making it hard to sleep; the carpet was almost black in places. There was no fridge or utensils, just two glasses for rinsing and two coffee cups, forcing us to rely on the hotel. The bathroom was in poor condition, with only two sockets that were also unreliable. Showering was a nightmare, with alternating ice‑cold and scalding water; the dryer barely worked, so washing hair was impossible. On cold nights the room was colder than outside.

They claimed early check‑in was possible, yet the front desk never answered; I had to wait even longer to get into the room, which was cold and lacked extra blankets. The bathroom door wouldn’t close properly and there was no hot water for the shower that morning when we checked out.

The room was decent for an affordable hotel near the center, and the reception staff were helpful, letting me leave my luggage after check‑out. It wasn’t a luxury place and I didn’t expect much, but the Wi‑Fi on the top floor was spotty and there was no small fridge to keep food; tram and car traffic outside the hotel was noisy.
