The location is excellent, very central, with everything around – restaurants, bars, shops – and all staff are very friendly, and the value for money is great.

The location was excellent, the beds surprisingly comfortable, and the staff were very accommodating. I checked in very late and the nice man at reception helped me carry my large suitcase up the very narrow steps. It was on the more affordable side for Amsterdam. Very basic but did the job. The room was tiny, which was expected, but a few small changes could make a big difference for such a small space. There were no hooks to hang towels. One pillow was awful (the other was fine). The cabinet where the safe was didn’t fit the space and just took up unnecessary space, as did a pointless, unplugged telephone with its plug wrapped around it. Our room only seemed to be cleaned if we asked, and I had to ask for toilet paper and a bathroom mat. I could hear everything going on inside other people’s rooms as I walked past. Staff weren’t always at reception during opening hours, and after waiting around I had to come back to make a request. The stairs are challenging, but that’s just the building.

The location and staff were excellent, but the bathroom box kept falling apart on its own, there was excessive dust under the bed and on the wardrobe that seemed never cleaned, and the nonstop noise made it impossible to rest.
