The location wasn't bad for the Red Bull Soapbox event we attended. I didn't like that the top of the wardrobe never had a cloth cover. It was 30‑odd degrees during the day, had no air conditioning, no fan, so we couldn't sleep at night. I couldn't open the window because three feet below it was a chicken‑wire roof and someone had thrown a bin bag with old food, which rats were eating; I could hear them squeaking and fighting, so we couldn't keep the windows open. I also didn't like that the lady next door, whom I initially thought might be staff, knew the code to my room, said it was the same if they hadn't changed it, and had full access to my room, making me uneasy about leaving valuables there. When I called the helpline, they tried to sell me extra secure storage in the building to make more money out of an already disappointing trip. The curtains were all falling down and didn't block morning light, so I fixed them myself. The bedding and bathroom were lovely and clean. I tried to add a video of the general dirtiness of the place, but it wouldn't let me upload my photos or video, or I'm not quite sure if they added them.

The room’s layout was really nice and everything was clean; the location was great. The only drawback was that the bathroom was separated from the main room, which was inconvenient, but it could still work.

Getting to Main Street and the buses was a breeze. I did notice a water leak near the kitchen door, which I reported, and the extension double plug under the window wasn’t fitted correctly; it popped out of the wall when I unplugged the lamp plug. The toilet was also very low, making it tough for someone with bad knees.

The place’s location was a plus. Unfortunately, the shower handle was broken, and the shampoo holder was missing.
