Elegantly decorated rooms have en-suite bathrooms with luxury amenities, cable TV, and in-room coffee makers. Located downtown, it offers a complimentary airport shuttle, seasonal dining at Brick Salt Bar and Kitchen, and proximity to government buildings, Charleston Civic Center, and Cato Park Golf Course.

I stayed near my friends and former classmates, and the Embassy is within walking distance. However, I had to scrub the shower before using it, the wall in my room was stained, and the trash cans had no liners. The young lady who checked me out had a rude attitude; she seemed like a coworker rather than a manager and clearly needs more professionalism training. On the bright side, the clerk who handled our check‑in and check‑out was pleasant.

The staff were friendly, yet the room had a bad smell and the hallway carpet was bubbled, as if it had been wet.

The location is close to the concert venue, but the elevator was crowded after the event. My room was on a high floor, making it hard to climb the many steps—though I’m fairly fit, I would have taken the stairs otherwise. It would help if the bar stayed open an hour or two after an event for hotel guests only, and after a certain time you need a key to enter the bar like the pool—kind of a VIP area—to keep outside traffic out.
