It is a fantastic hotel by an old crater lake in Unzen. The rooms come in Japanese and European styles. The view and the facilities are sensational. The hotel operator was super friendly, gave us many tips, and we even borrowed e‑bikes from him to tour the nearby pass. Everything just matched perfectly. We can only recommend it highly.

The room was gorgeous, overlooking the lake, extremely spacious, spotless and fully equipped—simply perfect. It was also within walking distance of the Hot Springs in the city centre, making it a total must‑stay.

The view was amazing and the mornings were peaceful; I could also use the books and laundry facilities, and the bathroom area was clean. The only downside was that the fridge in the room was a bit dirty.

I stayed for one night and it was great. The host, Atashi, was very helpful, even calling the car rental company to extend my lease. He was kind and the lobby had a cool hot wheel collection.

The room was incredibly comfortable and offered an unbeatable value for the price. If you're planning to visit Unzen onsen, this is definitely a great place to stay. The only thing that would've made my stay even better was a bit more guidance on how to find the hotel's entrance.
