I adored staying at the white house; Rangan, the owner, felt more like a friend than a host and treated us with genuine warmth. The room was comfortable, and the garden outside was a peaceful oasis with hammocks. Breakfast was fantastic, making the whole experience absolutely worth it.

The hostel manager was very welcoming and offered plenty of extras—tea, coffee, fresh fruit—at no extra cost. The room and facilities were solid for the price point.

After taking a tuk‑tuk from Haputale through the tea plantations, I arrived at a wonderful family-run place. The mother cooked for me, and the son took me on a tour of Lipton’s Seat, teaching me a lot about the tea fields. I stayed in a small, clean cabin with amazing views, feeling right at home and wishing I could have stayed more nights. The family helped with everything, even driving me to the bus station and onto the bus.

10/10 – one of the most beautiful spots on our entire trip! The White House is a tranquil, beautifully designed retreat with a jungle‑like garden that feels like a private oasis, complete with hammocks, a cozy lounge area, and restaurant tables surrounded by greenery. Everything is lovingly crafted, inviting you to relax and enjoy your stay. The real highlight is Rangan, the host, who is by far one of the kindest, most generous people we met on our journey. His warm personality makes you feel instantly welcome and comfortable. Whatever you need or want to do, Rangan is ready to help, offers great activity suggestions, and even arranges snorkeling trips. The rooms are clean, cozy, and perfectly suited to their purpose. Combined with the lovely location, unique atmosphere, and especially the incredible hospitality, the value for money is truly outstanding.
