The location is gorgeous right on the river, and the drive itself is a dream through a lovely hill landscape full of sheep, pure New Zealand vibe. The food is very fine, using ingredients from the garden, and the staff are very friendly. At dinner, you sit at a large table with other guests and quickly strike up conversation. It is a bit pricey, though.

The staff were exceptionally accommodating, and the food was absolutely delicious!

The staff are friendly and the place is wonderfully isolated, tucked beside the Rangitikei River in a deep canyon, with no mobile phone coverage.

The location is in the valley, next to the river, isolated from the world. The people who welcome us and the food are wonderful. The rooms could be modernized or at least offer a more upscale option.

The location is cool and remote, and I met some lovely young men from Costa Rica who were touring the country while we shared dinner. For $430.00 we expected a bit nicer accommodation; it wasn’t really a deluxe room but it was OK. The property seemed to need a bit of TLC, such as a petanque area that needed work, an old garden with tires, and weeding.
