The location is extraordinary, up in the mountains above the city, the décor is successful, the meals are good and hearty, and the staff are friendly and available, but there were plastic bags and medication packets under the beds left by previous guests, and the room cleaning was not very thorough.

We were thrilled with every aspect of our visit: the remote location was fantastic, the food was delicious, the hosts were friendly and truly enhanced our experience, and the accommodation was distinctive and very comfortable.

The site is beautifully situated with great walking trails and mountain views, the staff were very friendly and the food was delicious, the rooms were excellent and blended right into the surroundings, and there’s a waterfall on the grounds for a refreshing dip.

It’s situated in a very lush mountain area right beside a waterfall. You can choose between a Sri Lankan breakfast or an English breakfast, but neither was served hot. The Sri Lankan breakfast was delicious, though it would have been better if it were warmer.

Melanie went above and beyond to make our trip comfortable, arranging transport for us and even securing tickets for the sold‑out train to Ella. The lodge itself is nice, the food is good, and the staff are very friendly.
