“Guesthouse Asabina review”
I’ve been to a lot of hostels, but this one tops them all. I stayed twice: a single night in July 2023 and a week and a half in July 2026, each time booking separately. The owners, a husband and wife, are polite, helpful, and genuinely friendly, and they keep the place spotless by cleaning and vacuuming daily. I love the Japanese capsule beds—my own enclosed space that feels a lot better than any bunkbed setup. The lounge, with a futon area, a hammock, and a great layout for chatting, relaxing, and playing group games, left lasting memories. The owners have info cards on every table about must‑see food, drinks, and nature spots. The decor is tasteful, especially the bathrooms, but the kitchen really stands out: two big fridges, two rice cookers, two microwaves, every utensil imaginable, multiple cooking hobs, and free awamori after 3 pm, all perfectly maintained. Cooking here is a joy, and I miss it already. I forgot the owners’ names, but they run the hostel with a level of care and attention that’s rare. I hope future guests treat them with the same respect and kindness they give you. I can’t wait to return one day. The only gripe is that the futon mattress feels a bit thin; a slightly thicker one would be perfect. Still, the private cabin, bedside light, and all the other great features keep me at a 10 instead of a 9.
I stayed with my son’s friend, who was the same age as my son, and even though it was just one day, we felt like brothers. The distance between guests and the staff was just right, so we didn’t feel awkward and could relax comfortably. The distance to the busy district is about a walk, which allowed for a quiet, slow rest. The interior details are stylish, and you can tell they pay attention to little things. I want to save money for next time. My son also liked it, and we’re planning to use this place as a base in the future 😚
The beds were very comfortable
“楽しい時間を過ごすことができました。また来ます。”
The kitchen was well stocked and had plenty of seasonings, which was great. I think having a place to sit and rest would make it even more comfortable.
“癒しの宿”
It was quiet, clean, and comfortable. I was in a dorm, got a key for my room, but didn’t use it much. I had a carry‑case, so a bit more space under the bed would have been nice.
