The spot for Legoland is spot on, and Karl Strauss is a solid choice for a quick bite. Our room was roomy and had all the usual travel comforts you might overlook. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The top bar's beer was cold and the views were nice, even though the hillside is still just dirt. Parking was convenient, and the bed was firm yet comfortable. The drive to Moonlight Beach was short. The only downside was the expected park noise; it wasn’t overwhelming but being on the lowest level and having a front door that didn’t seal properly—latched loosely and letting daylight in on three sides—made it a bit annoying. It’s tolerable if you’re ready for it, and with our own kids being noisy we’re not being hypocritical.
