The service was excellent and the owner was incredibly kind; we could book a boat to the island and the owner met us with the boat on Bira Beach. Lunch could be purchased on site, and the owner’s wife cooked the best meal we had during our stay in Sulawesi. The location was right on the beach, the breakfast was good, and water, coffee, and tea were free. The place was clean and pleasant, so I highly recommend it.

The location was great, right on the beach, and every meal prepared by the cook was excellent, inexpensive, and plentiful; they helped us plan our return drive to Makassar.

In March we stayed nine days at Liukang Ocean Holidays, had a wonderful time, and Jafar helped us arrange snorkeling and travel; his wife and daughters cooked delicious meals. The place was peaceful, perfect for relaxing, and swimming in front of the homestay was a bonus.

We drive to Liukang to escape the crowds and littered beach at Bira, but the Ocean Holiday isn’t better. Daily boats with excursionists and divers from Bira line up on the beach in front of the accommodation and also eat there; the boats are parked in front of the beach. If you avoid the whole area to the right, the beach is so dirty you don’t want to lie there. Directly in front of the resort the beach was less polluted. The room was decent for the price and quite large, with air‑conditioning and a shaded terrace. The rest is truly complaint‑worthy—for example, the table where you make coffee is awful; I attached a photo that shows it. Breakfast was below average: sweet turquoise toast and scrambled eggs, but the fruit plate was good. Dinner was okay but always the same. It was uncomfortable that the owner sat in the restaurant and we felt watched all the time. We booked for six nights but left after two nights without any refund, and on the contrary the owner charged us extra for the round trips. He could have shown some leniency.

I was picked up by boat and taken back to Bira, and the owner guided us nicely; we used her hotspot. The only downside was that the owner's wife didn’t speak English, but she cooked delicious meals for us.
