Located in Wansford village on the A1 Motorway, The Haycock Manor Hotel features award-winning gardens and a 16th-century coaching inn design. The hotel offers a restaurant, bar, and pet-friendly rooms with luxury en-suite bathrooms, separate bathtubs, and showers. Some rooms have garden views and tea/coffee facilities. The hotel is 6 miles from Stamford and 8 miles from Peterborough city centre, with direct motorway access.

Breakfast was delicious. I am a vegetarian and ordered the veggie breakfast. Great attention to detail with a well cooked field mushroom and some steamed spinach as well as 2 good quality veggie sausages and 2 eggs. The bread for toast was sourdough. We also ate an evening meal there which was also fantastic. There was only 1 set of towels in our room which we only noticed in the morning. Not a huge deal for me as I showered first so my partner had to use the wet ones - tee hee!

The location is beautiful and the village lovely. The hotel itself is charming, full of character, yet modern, and it was clear that many upgrades were underway.

The setting is peaceful, and the rooms feel cozy and welcoming. The staff are polite, friendly, and attentive. The food is exceptional, the shower is fantastic, the beds are very comfortable, and there is no noise from neighboring rooms. The only issue was that the sealant around the shower was black, cracked, and could potentially leak; maintenance fixed it quickly and it didn’t spoil our stay.
