The manager was friendly and the room was clean, though it had no windows. Unfortunately, they misplaced one of my clothing items, which was an error rather than intentional.

Nothing good. The sheets were dirty, there were cockroaches in the room, the toilet didn’t work, there was no hot water, and Wi‑Fi was absent.

I had to give one pillow to two cockroaches that were sitting on it. I’m just a guest in this room, and they’re living there. I don’t recommend it.

If you’re staying at Chungking Mansions, you probably already know what they are. I think reviews that criticize should be ignored. Sunny is a very kind and helpful man. The room was very simple but clean, with a private toilet that also has a shower. The air‑conditioning was strong enough. Everything is on the 5th floor in block E. I needed a place where I could exit through the stairwell in case of emergency, and that was no problem. When you enter the Mansions, just go to the back right corner and take the right elevator (it stops on odd floors). From the elevator, turn sharply left and you’ll be in front of the hotel door. It’s best to ask for the key code beforehand. When I was there, I had trouble with the bell and the mobile internet in the Mansions isn’t great. The Chungking Mansions themselves aren’t a beautiful place. I found everything safe, but there is trash in the stairwells that you won’t see if you use the elevator. Here you get a central location at a low price in a unique environment. Sunny is currently renovating the rooms. For example, the sockets are sometimes not fully embedded in the wall. For the price, I don’t find that a big deal.

The location is great and the staff are very gentle and available whenever you need them. The rooms are very small, the beds aren’t clean, and the restroom requires you to sit on the toilet to shower. I would say it’s fair—you get what you pay for staying in the center of Hong Kong.
