The guest house’s location is fine, but the room was dirty, blankets weren’t cleaned, it smelled, and the caretaker was drunk and slow to show me my room.
“very poor”
The only positive was the friendly host/caretaker Paul, who seemed to do his best but was hampered by indifferent absentee owners; the carpets smelled, the first‑floor toilet was either permanently locked or always in use, so I had to use the ground‑floor toilet that had no flush handle and required pulling a wire in the wall, and the shower was filthy.
“We didn’t stay. We went to the pub, booked a local Premiere Inn and left”
The place had a horrible damp smell, body odor, and drains that were either blocked or broken.
“Wouldn’t stay again”
Nothing good; the fridge stinks and the bedding was full of hair.
