Nothing! The room we had was nothing like the description or photos online; the customer service was bad, the food—especially the afternoon tea with cheese scones, jam, and cream—was poor, the cleaning service left the bed unmade and bins unemptied, the room was dark, and the small window looked out onto a brick wall; it was advertised as a suite, which it definitely was not.

The room needs an upgrade—shower barely worked, the curtain rail on the top right isn’t attached, and overall the room needs redecoration.

Check‑in staff were excellent, the room was very comfortable and elegant, and the food was great, but like most older hotels, a fresh coat of paint and tidying are still needed, though I’m sure it’s on the agenda.

I’ve stayed here repeatedly and love the hotel, but room 125 had terrible TV reception, very few power outlets, and none on the side of the bed, making it hard to charge my phone or use my laptop.
