“Esperábamos más”
The house was pretty and spacious, the pool area was good, and the billiards was a real hit. But it had a strong closed‑in smell; it would have helped to ventilate before we arrived. The kitchen was a mess, the extractor fan’s electrical wiring was flimsy, and the damp smell grew stronger on the stairs leading to the garage. In one room the bed made a lot of noise and the mattress was uncomfortable. Overall the garden, except for the pool area, was neglected, with items scattered around (a stationary bike, rusty chairs from the estate, a toilet…). We didn’t use the grill because the grass was very, very tall and we feared a fire.
