A decent spot for a night’s rest. There isn’t much to do around here, so it’s mainly a place to sleep when you’re traveling for work. Breakfast is fine but nothing special – just the usual fare. The room was really hot, even with the windows open.

Breakfast was generous and tasty. The coffee wasn’t bad, though people should know the urns contain ground coffee. The smoothie was very powdery. I would have liked a poached egg! The beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was lovely. An extra folding chair in the room would have been nice. Being so close to The Slate conference centre was perfect.

Great spot near the university – just a stone’s throw from the central campus for an open day. No blinds or net curtains, and we were overlooking the car park, so we had to pull the blackout curtains down when changing.

Getting there was easy, and it was close to my conference. Because I booked months ahead, I was assigned a disabled-accessible room right next to a busy staircase. It was noisy and I got very little sleep, so that was a negative for my experience.
