The internet was solid, which was a relief, but the shower never heated up and the power flickered every time it turned on. The bed was so soft we sank into it, and there was a constant smell of urine. By 5 am the whole building was noisy with guests heading out to work.

“Não tinha pulga, já foi positivo”

The price was great, though breakfast wasn’t included. The foam mattress that was placed over the two single beds to make a double was uncomfortable, so we had to remove it to sleep. Picking up the room keys from a separate location was inconvenient, and having to return them there was even worse.

“Não pretendo voltar!”

The hotel itself was clean and the receptionist was attentive, but that was the end of the good part. We were told to go to another lodge a kilometer away to get our room key—information that wasn’t on the booking page. I only got the message before arrival while on the road, so I didn’t see it. Imagine arriving and having to detour through narrow, confusing streets of Sabará to fetch a key.
