The hotel features 8 restaurants, including the 14th-floor rotating Top of Kyoto serving French cuisine and Aoi Teppanyaki Restaurant offering Japanese wagyu beef. Free WiFi and a concierge are provided. Nishi Hongan-ji Temple is a 5-minute walk, with other temples nearby.

The hotel’s location is great, close to Kyoto station with free shuttle service, the breakfast matches a 5‑star standard, the wellness area (pool) is pleasant, and we paid for an evening buffet that offered a superb variety of dishes.

The staff handled things well, but my coat got soaked in the rain and when I had it cleaned it returned wrinkled, which was frustrating.
