The overall experience and stay were absolutely superb, the staff were exceptional, the room fit our needs, the grounds were beautiful for morning walks, and everyone was friendly and helpful—Oli, the grounds keeper, was especially wonderful with my 3‑year‑old son and feeding the fish was fun for him. Sam was great, and the rest of the staff made the experience easier. The room cleaning staff were friendly and professional. The only issue was that the room could have been cleaner, especially under the TV unit cupboard and bed; the fireplace could use a cleaning and there was a smell coming from it.

The location and staff were great, but they didn’t inform me that I’d booked a dog‑friendly room, even though they kindly made an exception; the room I ended up in had a noisy boiler underneath, which made it hard to relax.

The scenery and property were beautiful, but the room wasn’t ready at the promised 4:15; we were told to wait in the lounge until 4:35 with no apology or refreshments offered, and the reason given was simply “We’re busy.” A discarded sandwich in the bathroom bin made us question how clean the room actually was, and the sea bass at dinner was cold; the waiter walked away when we mentioned it, and despite us giving the hotel feedback, we received no response.
