Schloß Vietgest

We stayed in a truly regal setting and had a wonderful breakfast. We swam in the nearby Moorsee and read in the library. It’s great that such dedicated and open-minded castle owners share this gem with strangers! As experienced public‑transport users we found it clear… except on weekends… then you’re left with walking or a ride‑share (the castle owners are very helpful).

“„Hervorragend“!”

An extraordinary place that can’t be compared to a typical hotel :) With passion and personal dedication, the castle lady breathed new life into the site. We were greeted warmly and felt less like guests and more like old friends visiting. Looking at the house’s history and what has been created here, it’s hard to stop being amazed. The breakfast in the library was the crowning moment for us! It was a magical experience and we’re looking forward to returning in summer! There’s always something to critique, but that would be high‑level whining :)

Attentive and welcoming hosts and staff – pleasant and quiet stay in the castle – tasty and well‑prepared breakfast – tidy room and great bed. The breakfast was tasty and well‑prepared, though a bit pricey compared to similar offerings elsewhere.

We liked the ambience. The beds were very good. The pillow was very comfortable. We can only recommend it. It’s also a quiet and cozy atmosphere for a large family celebration.

The historic vibe and friendly welcome were great, but the bathroom setup was disappointing.
