The value for money was decent and the view was nice, yet the place really needs a general renovation or at least a thorough cleaning – there was mold and the room still smelled bad even with the doors open. Getting there with suitcases was a nightmare because the home sits on a hill and taxis can’t reach it. After reading the reviews I expected a warm welcome from the family running the place, but we barely spoke with them – only about payment.

The view was beautiful, the breakfast at the nearby café was cheap and very good, and the location was fine even though you had to walk a bit. The hosts were always friendly and easy to reach. Unfortunately the bed was very hard and the whole property was very noisy; we heard animal sounds both day and night, and there was drilling and hammering in the morning.

Linh and her family are great hosts and were very helpful in recommending and organizing several fun activities. The rooms are comfortable and well kept with exceptional views from the balconies. The town is a short walk away with plenty of great meal choices available

The view is unmatched, the beds are comfortable enough, breakfast was good, and the staff helped with requests like arranging cars and carried our bags up and down the steep hill when we checked out. There are some cute cats around the property that are friendly. The room smelled very damp, the towels were damp, everything was damp. There’s no curtain or partition for the shower, so the bathroom floor gets pretty wet. The room is quite dated. It’s worth it for the insane view, but if you don’t have great weather it’s not the best. The walk up and down the hill to get there is steep.

Mintu is a truly traditional Homestay and Linh and her husband are delightful hosts who are so willing to help in any way needed. Their home is in a fantastic location close to walking tracks to the villages and easy walking distance to the Stone Church and the center of Sapa. The incredible view from my balcony along the valley with the golden rice fields rising up to the majestic mountains was absolutely breathtaking. If you are looking for a truly authentic stay in Sapa I doubt if you could find a better place. My only regret was I could not stay longer
