“Beautiful building, but the Taj hospitality was missing”

The building and location remain stunning, but after years of staying at Taj hotels, I expected the warm, attentive hospitality that defines the brand. During my August stays at The Pierre, that was absent: the bathroom door wouldn't close, hot water was unreliable, and the breakfast omitted all key Indian items, which is hard to understand for a Taj property. Despite the gorgeous building and location, paying over $2,000 for my stays left me feeling shortchanged.

“Waste of money”

The location was fine, but overall the experience was very disappointing: I could not get ironing service at night, which is a basic amenity for a hotel of this level; the bed was extremely uncomfortable, and the staff were rude, unpleasant, unsmiling, unhelpful, and seemed uninterested in assisting guests. They appeared to care little about the guests or the hotel, so I will not return and it feels like a waste of money.

The room was spacious and the breakfast excellent, but the lifts were not always available.
