“Forced to pay in physical USD”

I couldn’t stay because the owner demanded payment only in USD. He never reached out before I arrived, and when I got there he insisted on US dollars, even pressing me to withdraw cash at a local bank.

英語は通しませんが、ベテラン オーナーが、頑張って翻訳アプリも使いながら一生懸命色々世話を焼いてくれ、全く不自由なく、快適に過ごせました。アメニティ他全てにおいて不備なし、最終日、 列車の関係で5:30にチェックアウトしましたが、既にフロントに居てくれて、宿泊証明を印刷して渡してくれました。最後は感謝でハグして別れました。ロケーションも最高、良い宿です。. 無し。

“Great customer service and location, terrible bed and pot luck shower at a great price”

The host is fantastic and generous, and the breakfast is the best I’ve had near Central Park and Old Radio. However, the bed was lumpy, room three had no window, and the next room had a thin mattress. The owner smokes heavily, and I could hear him coughing while serving breakfast. The floor was dirty—when I dropped something, a clump of white hair was picked up with it. Two of the three nights the shower was cold, so I had to wash in the basin; the owner called an electrician the first night and replaced the switch the next morning, but the issue lingered. I had invited a friend to stay in a different room; the property could accommodate about 14 guests but only one shared outdoor loo.

The owner is incredibly sweet, and both the location and breakfast are excellent.
