The tent was cozy and comfortable. Loay handled the transfers both ways and is a genuinely nice person to deal with. Dinner and breakfast were both excellent. I skipped the paid activities and simply walked in the dunes at night—this was the most memorable part of the stay, and it cost nothing.

We left our car in the yard with the host and rode off into the desert in his car. The camp itself is very convenient; we ordered breakfast and dinner, everything tasted good. The host left us plenty of water right away, and coffee was brought from a neighboring camp. There are common shaded areas where you can relax comfortably. Sleeping at night was fine, but it gets hot early in the morning. We were happy, even considering we were traveling with a 2‑year‑old child. The only issue is that sand is everywhere now and it’s hard to get rid of it, but that’s not a camp problem—just something to know.

I was bumped up by Dawood and ended up in a raised tent with a lovely view; the camp lets you enjoy beautiful dunes and the food was amazing—probably the best I ate on my trip to Oman. However, the maintenance could be tighter: the fan worked only intermittently and a shower head fell onto my head.

The landscape is unique. We had an enriching experience at Camp Layali, with endless, mesmerizing sand dunes, a sublime sunrise, an authentic tent, and warm, available guides—especially Louay. A must‑repeat experience!
