“Very comfortable”
The setting is lovely and the facilities are excellent, with staff who are very helpful. The only downside was that the soap provided was hard to reach and the TV was a bit tricky to operate.

I’ve been coming back to this place for about ten years now, my third or fourth visit. The art‑deco vibe in both the rooms and the bar‑restaurant area really catches my eye, and both the evening meal and breakfast were solid. I stayed in room 119, but the traffic noise on the street was loud enough that I had to bring ear plugs.

The decor is quirky and the stay was fab. I couldn’t turn off the radiator in the bedroom, so it stayed warm, and there was a lot of noise in the morning from outside the room because we were next to the laundry drop‑off.

The art‑deco building is charming, the room is pleasant, breakfast is excellent, and dinner at the restaurant is great. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the historic airfield surroundings add an interesting touch. Nothing to complain about.

The receptionist was incredibly friendly when I arrived. The hotel looks stunning from the outside and in the common areas. Biscuits and peppermints were in the room, and the location was used for a Baby Lock training workshop. Coffee at breakfast was good, and parking was free. However, my bath had water with hairs in it upon arrival, which made me question whether it had been cleaned properly. The room was very basic, with a stained carpet and hollow‑sounding floors. The view faced a back carpark where a service vehicle arrived late and made noise. The next morning the host at breakfast didn’t explain the self‑serve buffet or coffee options, just handed out a menu. The breakfast itself sounded good—avocado with poached egg on granary toast—but the bread tasted old and cold, and the avocado wasn’t very nice, so I left most of it. Disappointing. After breakfast I returned to my room and heard a cacophony of noise coming through the walls from the housekeeping room next door, though I wasn’t sure what was happening. An explanation in the room about the location of the iron would have been useful instead of having to go back to reception, then to the bedroom block, and then to the ironing room. With a few tweaks I would have come back. Look closely at your housekeeping. A bath with water in it is not acceptable.
