The location was fine, but we were told we were safe after we asked at check‑in. I left early Monday morning for business in George. My wife was working alone on her computer in the room that day when a gardener entered through the open sliding door and seemed to intend theft. He didn’t notice my wife in the opposite corner, and when he saw her he hurried out. We questioned this, but the manager initially sided with the gardener.

The hotel looks like a quaint, old‑world place in a lovely setting. The staff were helpful and friendly and tried to make up for the hotel’s shortcomings. Our room was large, comfortable, and had a great view. Dinner was delicious and plentiful. First impressions mattered, though; we arrived without a single sign of the site. I tried calling the numbers on the counter and got no answer. About 30 minutes later someone came and checked us in, as if they hadn’t expected us. Others had the same problem. The place needs maintenance and there was no management visible.

Our stay at this hotel was a pleasant surprise. The room was lovely and clean, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was also excellent, with a wide variety of options. However, we did experience some issues with the internet connection, which was a bit frustrating.
